Declan continues to gain weight through his NG tube and had a chest X-ray ordered for today. There was something appearing in his lower right lung that the doctors were unsure of what that could be showing, but it didn’t appear to be anything alarming, just out of the ordinary. 

“Findings: Right base disease is also seen posteriorly; sequestration has been mentioned on prior report and it is agreed that this should be ruled out.” 

Other than this, things are looking good, and we may be able to be discharged on Friday, just in time to grab our camper and have a relaxing – stress free weekend! I was able to secure a respite room so Jennifer could get some much-needed sleep and not worry about Declan as he was thriving on his NG and gaining weight! We have spent so many nights on an uncomfortable couch in Declan’s room and this would at least give her a nice place to rest and shower and just recharge from all this stress. Of course, this is the night Declan decides to rip out his NG tube and cause all sorts of issues for the nursing staff. He got to have a break from having his NG tube in for a while until around 1am… it was a restless night for dad, but at least momma got some much-needed rest!
